This site has not tested any robot vacuum. This page sums up what the laboratories and websites that buy robots and test them published in 2026, with the name, the link and the date of each result, and adds no verdict of its own.
The short answer is that no tester names one robot for every home. In Italy, Altroconsumo’s free article of 19 October 2026 names a different model for each job: dust, mopping, hair on carpets, obstacles. In the United States, Vacuum Wars labeled the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete its “Best Overall” on a page updated on 29 October 2026, at $1,299 on Amazon US, while RTINGS, on a page updated on 7 August 2026, puts the Roborock Saros 10R first. Which? and Stiftung Warentest keep their winners for paying readers. This page has no affiliate links; the euro prices it reads itself come only from the makers’ official Italian shops, with the date, and prices quoted by a tester are given as the tester’s.
Who tests robot vacuums, and what can you read for free?
Five testers publish a method: they buy the robots, clean measured amounts of dirt in a lab or a mock-up of a home, and score the results. Review sites that do not describe how they test are left out.
| Tester | Where | How many robots | What they measure | Free | For subscribers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Altroconsumo | Italy | 120 tested from 1 June 2024 to 31 May 2026 | Dust on smooth floors, mixed dirt, tile crevices, hair on carpets, mop on clay and chocolate stains, cleaning around obstacles in a mock home, noise, energy | Category winners and a brand ranking | Results for each model (comparator, trial at €2 for two months) |
| Stiftung Warentest | Germany | 44, page dated 30 June 2026 | Vacuuming on hard floors and carpet, mopping, everyday use, handling, environment, safety, what the app sends | Models, prices, method, headline findings | Every grade, €5.90 |
| Which? | UK | 14 or 15 (the page gives both), page dated 22 October 2026 | Crushed cereal, real cat hair in carpet, jam and honey for mops, a living room with a lamp base, a trailing wire and a rug, corners, steps, noise, setup | Models, prices, method | Scores, the three Best Buys and two Great Value picks |
| Vacuum Wars | US | More than 205, bought at retail | Carpet deep cleaning, hard floors and crevices, pet hair and tangling, navigation, 24 obstacles, 14 dried stains | Picks and most measurements | Nothing; it earns a commission on Amazon links |
| RTINGS | US | Over 95 on its list page, bought by RTINGS; page updated 7 August 2026 | Not detailed on the list page | Picks with reasons, linked to Amazon.it | Not checked; it says it is supported by memberships and affiliate commissions |
Which? says it never accepts free samples from makers, Vacuum Wars that it buys every unit at full retail price, and RTINGS that it purchases every robot vacuum it tests. Altroconsumo and Stiftung Warentest say on their method pages that they buy the products anonymously in shops.
What do the free results say at each price?
Vacuum Wars and RTINGS test models sold in the United States; Vacuum Wars gives dollar prices from Amazon US, while RTINGS’s picks link to Amazon.it. Makers often sell a version with a different name in Italy, and a result for one version does not carry over to another. RTINGS’s “Best Mid-Range” and “Best Budget” picks, the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra and MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, are not placed in a band below: their prices in MOVA’s Italian shop were not checked. In the bands below, Vacuum Wars’ picks are placed by their price in US dollars, and RTINGS’s by the price on the maker’s Italian shop.
Under €300
- RTINGS’s “Best Cheap” pick is the Roborock Q7 M5, which replaced the eufy Auto-Empty C10 because of current prices, its update log says. Roborock’s Italian shop listed the Q7 M5 at €139.99 (list price €239.99) on 1 November.
- Vacuum Wars’ pick under $300 (21 October 2026) is the Dreame D20+, shown at $309.99 on 1 November. It removed 93% of the debris pressed into carpet (average 77.86%) and 91% of flattened pet hair, with no hair wrapped around its brushes, but avoided none of the 24 obstacles and scored below average at mopping. Dreame’s Italian shop listed a D20 Air Plus at €179 on 1 November; the pages do not say whether it is the same robot.
- On its mop combo page Vacuum Wars labels the Roborock Q10 S5+ “Best Budget” ($329.99 on sale), without giving a mopping score.
- Stiftung Warentest’s robots that vacuum and mop cost from €240 to €1,300, at online prices in Germany collected by the price-comparison site Geizhals.
From €300 to €700
- RTINGS’s “Best Upper Mid-Range” pick is the Roborock Qrevo Curv, which struggles with pet hair; RTINGS notes it is an older model, since replaced by the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow. On 1 November it was sold out on Roborock’s Italian shop, at €699 (list price €1,499.99).
- The Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni is the only robot in Vacuum Wars’ top five listed under the same name in the guide’s table of official Italian prices: €549 on Ecovacs’s Italian shop on 31 October and 1 November 2026. Vacuum Wars, which shows it at $799.99 on Amazon US, places it fourth overall: it avoided 23 of 24 obstacles and picked up all the flattened pet hair, with a very small 250 ml dustbin.
- Vacuum Wars’ “Best Value” is the Ecovacs T80S Omni ($670.25): 91% of carpet sand removed, 21 of 24 obstacles avoided, below-average navigation efficiency.
- Altroconsumo does not group its winners by price; it only warns that the Dyson 360 Vis Nav costs over €500.
Over €700
- RTINGS’s first pick, the Roborock Saros 10R, is “the best robot vacuum cleaner we’ve tested” in its words, excellent on hard floors and at mopping, with weak pickup of pet hair on carpet. Roborock’s Italian shop listed it at €1,099.99 (list price €1,499.99) on 1 November.
- Vacuum Wars’ “Best Overall”, the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete ($1,299), has its highest overall score: 92% of carpet sand removed, 23 of 24 obstacles avoided. The Narwal Freo 20 ($1,099.99) and the Roborock Qrevo Edge 3 Pro ($1,299.99 on sale) follow.
- Its obstacle list of 28 October 2026 puts first the eufy Omni S2 ($1,299.99 on sale), the only robot that avoided all 24 objects, with below-average stain scores and inconsistent climbing over a 32 mm threshold.
- Its pick from $600 to $1,000, the Dreame L60 Ultra PE ($999.99), removed 94% of carpet sand, crossed a 19 mm threshold but not a 25 mm one, and removed fewer dried stains than average. Dreame’s Italian shop listed an L60 Ultra, without “PE”, at €899 on 1 November.
- The Roborock Saros Z70, with a mechanical arm, was €799 on Roborock’s Italian shop on 1 November. RTINGS writes that the arm does not work well and does not justify the much higher price; Stiftung Warentest tested it in its 2025 round, with the grade for subscribers.
Pet hair, carpets, mopping: which robots did well at each job?
- Pet hair and carpets. Altroconsumo names the Bosch BCRD2W Spotless Advance+ the best robot on carpets for hair and fibers, and says the average in that test is about 2 stars out of 5. Vacuum Wars’ pet hair list of 28 October 2026 puts the Dreame L60 Ultra PE first: 100% of flattened pet hair picked up, no hair wrapped. Its test spreads 2 grams of pet hair, 2.5 inches long, into carpet. RTINGS reports weak pet hair pickup for its first pick, the Saros 10R.
- Mopping. The Narwal Freo X Ultra gets Altroconsumo’s highest mopping score, but its overall quality is low, partly because “il robot non ha riconosciuto le scale” (it did not recognize the stairs). The Xiaomi X20 Max mops fairly well (3.5 stars) with a good overall rating. For mop combos, Vacuum Wars picks the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete.
- Obstacles. Altroconsumo’s best at recognizing and cleaning around obstacles is the Roborock Qrevo CurvX; Vacuum Wars’ is the eufy Omni S2.
- Dust on hard floors. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav gets Altroconsumo’s best result in its hard-floor test, and it is the only model it scores above 1.5 stars on dust in tile crevices, at 2.5 out of 5, against an average of 0.5. It does not mop and has trouble on carpets.
Where do the testers agree, and where not?
They do not agree on a single weak spot. Stiftung Warentest’s summary is “Viele Geräte zeigen Schwächen, vor allem beim Wischen” (“many devices show weaknesses, above all at mopping”), and it notes that a station that also washes and dries the mop often costs a few hundred euros more. Altroconsumo writes that on average robots reach a pass mark only for dust on smooth floors, with carpets, tile crevices, hair and mixed dirt the weakest results; Which? that even the best robots cannot match a standard vacuum on carpets.
They rarely test the same model, because they buy in different countries, and they weigh different things. Even the two US testers disagree at the top: RTINGS puts the Roborock Saros 10R first, Vacuum Wars the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete. Altroconsumo’s brand ranking of 20 August 2026 mixes lab results (45%) with reliability (25%) and satisfaction (20%) from surveys of owners in nine countries, plus the share of models rated excellent in its tests (10%): Dreame 65 out of 100, Roborock 64, Xiaomi 60, Ecovacs 53, iRobot and Philips 52, Rowenta 49, Cecotec 47. Eufy, Samsung, Hoover and Dyson are left out because fewer than five of their robots were tested. Vacuum Wars scores lab results only, against the average of every robot it tested, and its picks change from list to list: its “Best Budget” is the Dreame D20+ on its main list and the Roborock Q10 S5+ on its list of robots that vacuum and mop.
What don’t the tests measure?
- Privacy. Stiftung Warentest is the exception: it checks whether the Android and iOS apps send data the robot does not need, and lowers the overall grade by half a grade when that score is only “sufficient”. The other pages say nothing about it. Maps and cameras are covered in Does my robot vacuum have a camera, and who can see the map of my home?
- Security updates. None of the pages says for how long a model gets them. See the security support period.
- Spare parts over the years. None of the free pages adds up the cost of filters, bags and mop pads. Altroconsumo’s survey gives an average life of 6 years and 6 months, with the battery first among the problems reported for robots (13%).
- Service in Italy. US results say nothing about warranty, repairs or spare parts here.
How do I choose a robot vacuum and mop? covers these points with prices from the official shops.
Before Black Friday: how do you check a discount?
Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026. The guide’s table holds official Italian prices read before Black Friday week (Dyson already labeled its prices “Black Friday” on 1 November): 16 models checked on 31 October 2026 and 12 more, from Roborock, Dreame, Narwal and Dyson, on 1 November. Three checks help:
- Write down the price on the maker’s official shop today, then compare it with the “discounted” price later.
- In Italy, a shop announcing a discount must show as the earlier price the lowest one it charged in the previous 30 days, as the Ministry of Enterprises explains for Article 17-bis of the Consumer Code.
- Match the exact name: Plus, PE, Pro, Gen 2 or a color can mean a different robot from the one a tester scored.

Common questions
Which robot vacuum does Altroconsumo recommend?
Altroconsumo names a different model for each job in its free article of 19 October 2026: the Dyson 360 Vis Nav for dust on hard floors and in crevices, the Narwal Freo X Ultra for mopping, the Xiaomi X20 Max for good mopping with a good overall rating, the Bosch Spotless Advance+ for hair on carpets and the Roborock Qrevo CurvX for obstacles. The full results for each model are for members.
What is the best robot vacuum for pet hair?
No tester names one model for every home. Vacuum Wars, which tests US models, puts the Dreame L60 Ultra PE first on its pet hair list, updated on 28 October 2026, after it picked up all the flattened pet hair in its carpet test. Altroconsumo names the Bosch Spotless Advance+ as the best robot on carpets for hair and fibers, and says the average robot scores about 2 stars out of 5 in that test.
Which robot vacuum brand is the most reliable?
In Altroconsumo's 2026 brand ranking, Dreame has the highest reliability index of the brands it ranked, 96 out of 100, from surveys of owners in nine European countries. Roborock has 83, Philips 77, Xiaomi and Ecovacs 75. Brands with fewer than five robots tested, such as eufy, Samsung, Hoover and Dyson, are not ranked.
Where can I see robot vacuum test results for free?
Vacuum Wars publishes its picks and many measurements for free. Altroconsumo publishes a free article with category winners and a free brand ranking, while the results for each model are for members. Which? and Stiftung Warentest show their methods and the models they tested for free, and keep scores and grades for paying readers.
How do I know if a Black Friday discount on a robot vacuum is real?
Write down the price on the maker's official shop before the sales start, and compare. In Italy, a shop that announces a discount must show as the earlier price the lowest one it charged in the previous 30 days, as the Ministry of Enterprises explains for Article 17-bis of the Consumer Code. Check also that the model name matches exactly, because versions with similar names can differ.
